Bui Power Authority is truly the industry leader in renewable energy. They project to produce 250 MWp from solar and 404 MWp from hydropower but currently generating 50 MWP from solar with 1 MW generated from the floating panel system.
Bui Power Authority has 96 engineers, with appreciable number of female engineers. There are various units or department under BPA to ensure effective and excellent operation.
The Bui Dam consist of 3 turbines (Francis turbine) and it is a synchronous generator and condenser unlike Akosombo which is only synchronous generator. The speed of the turbine shaft is 150 revs/min.

Research Suggestions
- Ing. Prof. Osvaldo Romero suggested a research work should be initiated to study the effect of the BPA Floating Solar PV system on aquatic life.
- A research work be conducted to study the effect of dust or dirt on the performance of ground mounted solar PV system.
- Another research work to consider Agrovoltaic for the ground mounted solar PV system.
- Dr. Ato Quansah suggested the center consider creating research groups and encourage research meetings.
- A suggestion to make use available equipment of the center to provide consultancy services to client.
